Second Faith-Based Affordable Housing Summit

On March 13th, Bricks and Mortals, in collaboration with The Mayor's Working Group for Faith-Based Affordable Housing and Community Development and the NYC Center for Faith and Community Partnerships, hosted the second Faith-Based Affordable Housing Summit at Riverside Church in New York City. Hundreds of people were in attendance, including faith-based organizations, public sector representatives, faith leaders, and housing experts to address the critical issue of developing affordable housing on faith properties.

The event featured a dynamic program with over 20 expert panelists and special guests such as HUD Regional Administrator Alicka Ampry-Samuel, NYC First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright, Pastor Gil Monrose, and Rev. Adriene Thorne.

Panel discussions covered a range of topics, including zoning proposals, affordable housing policy changes, and the preservation of faith property landmarks. Attendees gained knowledge about innovative solutions and best practices for creating affordable housing within faith communities, contributing to the city's efforts in addressing housing accessibility challenges.
