The Tree of Life Center (Queens, NY)

affordable housing

The First Presbyterian Church of Jamaica set out to elevate the use of a neighboring parking lot in late 2016 by introducing a 12-story mixed use residential building on the property. In order to bring this project to life, the development arm of the church, the First Jamaica Community and Urban Development Corporation partnered with Bluestone Organization, to produce commercial spaces, community spaces, a garage, and 174 affordable housing units. The Tree of Life Center also hosts supportive and community services which include a food pantry, community dinners each week, clothing closet as well as basic literacy ad financial wellness programming.
