A shuttered Fourth Avenue Church of God building located at 1237 Northeast Fourth Avenue in Fort Lauderdale will soon be the home of an adaptive reuse project called the Canopî project.

Spearheaded by Wellmeaning Properties, a South Florida-based investment and development firm, Canopî is being called a “mixed-use lifestyle destination” which will feature shops, restaurants, bars and creative offices in Fort Lauderdale’s up-and-coming 13th Street neighborhood.

Wellmeaning Properties acquired the site for $2.4 million in 2020. The site will be outfitted with new impact windows and doors, polished concrete floors, new HVAC, roofing, and ADA-compliant restrooms.
