This summit builds on the success of the two citywide summits that Bricks and Mortals organized with the Mayor’s Working Group on Affordable Housing and Community Development and the Mayor’s Office for Faith-Based and Community Partnerships.

The conference will convene leaders from

to explore the opportunities and tackle the challenges around property stewardship and community impact.

Our agenda is filled with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and innovative ideas surrounding faith-owned properties.
  • All eyes on faith properties: Legislative updates on national, NYC, and NYS efforts to activate faith properties
  • What’s space got to do with it?: An expert roundtable on various uses of faith property
  • Lunch: Pick up lunch and network with fellow attendees before jumping into breakout groups
  • Space use deep dive: Three options to choose from: immigration services, space sharing with your community, or housing
  • Technical assistance: Three options to choose from: property management and maintenance, insurance, or expense and revenue strategies
